PORT ST. LUCIE The Mets added a new position to their coaching staff this winter, . Druschel was previously in the same job for the Yankees, where he gained familiarity with Mets manager Carlos Mendoza, a former bench coach in the Bronx. Druschel, 49, has an extensive collegiate coaching background, which he credits for his understanding of the technology used to help improve pitchers. Druschel, who is working under pitching coach Jeremy Hefner, Kawhi Leonard Jersey spoke to Post Sports+ this week about his new job and what he hopes to accomplish with the Mets. NYP: Who was the person most responsible for getting you to the Mets? DD: I have got several contacts here. Obviously, Mendy as someone I worked with, and Eric Jagers, who is the director of pitching development, I coached him in college [at Iowa]. I know [bullpen coach] Jos Rosado from the Yankees.
